its been a long time

So its been a really really long time.....its been a soo happy but soo sad few weeks for us. For the happiness, we found out on Jan 13 that i'm pregnant! :) So we are very excited about that. Looking forward to another little one. We haven't really told many people...until now :) I'm only about 5 weeks along though, so I'll probably be due in September.
The sad news, on the 19th, I lost my job which was so devastating and probably couldn't have come at a worse time, all I have to say is that I am so thankful for family and friends! The day I found out, my parents came over with soooo many groceries for us I just broke down crying. Jays parents filled our vehicles with gas and also bought us a ton more things we needed - the essentials. They have been so supportive lately and have been trying to help us any way they can, and I am so thankful for them. All of my friends have been really supportive in trying to let me know whenever they find out about any openings and everything. I still haven't had any success in finding a job yet - but its so hard, especially at this economic time. I just keep praying and hoping for the best.
Brikayla's birthday is a week from today. She'll be two! Already...wow time flies. She is so smart for her age too. I actually had a friend thinking she was turning three because of how much she's talking. She says so many things, and she is becoming little miss attitude also. She's gonna be two going on five or six. lol.

Oh last Friday, Brikayla got ahold of her wipes, and was ripping them to pieces, and next thing I know she was like "get it out mom" and i couldn't see anything, but then I noticed a little glimpse of white up her left nostril. She had shoved a piece of it so far up there I could barely see it. She was 'trying to get a boogie' but I freaked out, Jay grabbed the tweezers and was able to pull it out... I thought we were going to be making a trip to the ER. But luckily, we didn't have to and looking back on it now, it was pretty funny. Well, I guess thats it for now. Best Wishes

So the last few weeks have been a little crazy, so i haven't had time to update. New Years eve we hung out with friends over at Eli and Kristens house, which was a lot of fun! We had a blast playing wii and Brikayla had fun staying up until midnight. On the first of January, We went bowling with Blake and Amanda and then they came over to our house and we played bowling on the wii until 4:30 in the morning. It was really fun. I hadn't stayed up that late for such a long time! over the weekend we played in the snow with Brikayla. Which she absolutely loved! She would have stayed out there all day if we would have let her! We also hung out with friends Braydi and Brandt over the weekend - we played win lose or draw, which is a way fun drawing game on the tv! Monday the 5th Amanda finally had Gage! He is soo stinkin cute! Blake and Amanda were so excited for him to be here! We went and saw them in the hospital that night. Tuesday the 6th, we had Jays parents over for dinner which was great! On Friday we went and hung out with friends at Blakes house and then they ended up coming over to our house and hanging out. Saturday was Lateisha's birthday dinner. It was a lot of fun, we brought Brikayla with us and everyone had fun playing with her. Sunday was dinner at my parents, it was delicious lasagna and for dessert, we had brownies and ice cream, Brikayla got ahold of the chocolate syrup and squeezed a whole bunch into her bowl and then she was covered in chocolate syrup! it was soo funny, and while she was doing it she was saying "i'm so happy" it was really funny- i hadnt ever heard her say that, so it was even more funny

oh jeeze...

So, my arm is still really bruised and everything, but it was starting to feel better, but today I got a call from the doctor I saw on Monday after the fall, who said that they had sent my x-rays to radiology and they think I might have a hairline fracture...so Friday I have to go back in for more x-rays. So fun.

Anyway, it was Ashlees birthday yesterday, so we went over to her house for cake and ice cream which was fun :) Brikayla and Isaac got to play with each other, and had fun chasing the dogs around! Ashlee got a microwave from my parents...more a gift for her and my brother when they're married..which is now less than three months away! It's gonna fly by!

December is coming to an end...

So Friday the 26th, Amanda and Blake came over and we watched 88 minutes, which is a really good movie! On Saturday, we went over to Colton and Tiffanys house to watch the UFC fights, unfortunately pretty much everyone i wanted to win, lost :( ...its ok i still love you Forrest Griffin! lol. Sunday was my brothers Homecoming, which was really great! I was glad to see how much support my brother had! Sunday night my family came over and watched a movie at our house, which was really fun! My week started out not so great though, yesterday (Monday) when i was getting out of my truck at work, I slipped on ice and hurt my arm and back pretty good. I went to the Doctor, and they x-rayed my arm, no breaks, just really bruised and I had to get a tetanus shot. My arm is dying from that as well :( - then, today I found out that my Grandma passed away. we knew it was coming, I am just so sad. I am going to miss her soo much! She always had a smile on her face and brought joy to everyone. On the bright side though, I'm just glad that she isn't suffering anymore, and now she gets to be with my grandpa. She will just really be missed by everyone that knew her. I love you grandma

Christmas

So last Tuesday, the 23rd, we had Christmas with Jays parents. It was a lot of fun. They gave us money to go toward our tv, and also gave us a bunch of movies and stuff. They got Brikayla a princess shoe collection, and a big lion, and a bunch of other little things. Brikayla loves the lion and the shoes!

Chrismas Eve its a tradition to go to my parents house and we open our pj's and watch a christmas movie. This year we watched Fred Claus, which was really good! We all had a lot of fun opening gifts and we were all happy to have my brother home this Christmas! Brikayla got a curious george doll, some clothes and a cool vacuum set from my parents!

On Christmas Day, we opened our stockings first and then gifts from Santa - Jay and I got a big screen tv plus about 40 dvds, i also got a new cricut cartridge. Brikayla got a bike, a bunch of blocks, a lot of clothes and a dora backpack!

Sunday night we had a Christmas party with my moms side of the family. They are always soo crazy with all the 24 grandkids and one great grand kid (brikayla) but they are soo much fun!! Its my favorite thing to get to see all my cousins and everything!Brikayla got a set of twin baby dolls, which she absolutely loves!

Sunday also turned up with some unhappy news though, my great grandma is in the hospital, she is a breast cancer survivor, but now has bone marrow cancer, she went in for kemo on Wednesday, and it made her really sick. (Her birthday is actually today - she's 90) they didnt think she was going to make it through the night Saturday, but she did and seems to be doing a little bit better. So, the news did get a little better, but i guess its just bitter sweet, i dont want to lose her, but she really wants to be with my great grandpa.

The Secret is finally out!!

So my brother is finally home from his mission!!! We have been telling everyone he was coming home on the 24 of December because that was the original plan, but then it got moved to the 20th, and he decided he wanted to surprise his girlfriend, Ashlee! So he got home Saturday morning about 11:40 is when his plane arrived, it was so exciting to see him. He had never met Brikayla before because she was born two months after he had left. She knew who Braden was because we had been showing her pictures of him and its so cute how she says his name too. But right away she knew who he was, and it was so cute after he got his luggage and everything, Brikayla went on the little part of the ground that moves by itself and was running, she got pretty far ahead and then turned around and was like "come on, Braden." So anyway, after we left the airport we went to eat at Iggys, then went to see my brother, Cristian, and his band play in their first show at Kilby Court. They did really well! My brother plays the bass. So after all this we went home for a couple hours, my brothers best friend, Brendan came over with his girlfriend Lateisha. Brendan was soo excited for his best friend to finally be home! Well, after my brother was released, we headed downtown for temple square. We went into the North building where the statue of Christ is, and my brother waited in there amongst the crowd for Ashlee and her family to come up the ramp. Ashlee was looking at the Statue and my brother came up behind her. After she saw him, they couldn't stop hugging each other. It was soo cute and I'm so happy they're finally together again.......wedding planning time now! Well, I guess he has to hurry and go get the ring and ask her quick, but they'll be getting married within a few months!!!
