I guess it actually started a few weeks ago with craziness - August 19 Jay and I celebrated our anniversary, Brikayla started school on August 30 - more on that later. Rylee took a overnight trip to Vernal with my parents, since my Dad had to go there for business. She had a blast swimming at the hotel and they went to the dinosaur museum which she loved! Today Brikayla had her first dance class of the season. She loves dance so much. They were learning awesome stuff today when I went to pick her up - C jumps and toe touches. I love that she loves dance so much! She can be shy...for like 5 seconds, then she is a crazy (I honestly think she has ADHD like her Dad) all over the place little girl. She is already talking about how excited she is to perform on the big stage. Tomorrow we're going to be heading to the State Fair for opening day! We've gone on opening day the last two years, its become a fun tradition. We're going with my parents and my brother and sister. The girls are always so excited to do anything with Chelsie and Cristian so they are stoked! Brikayla keeps asking if she can get a pet when we go to the fair though, because my sister got a bunny there last year. She cried when I told her no, but got over it - so I'm just hoping that when we're there tomorrow, she forgets about it ;) Rylee is mostly just excited to go see the animals - she loves animals! Her age right now is definately one of my favorites. She seriously says the funnies things all the time. Brikayla, Jay and I have a thing where we always say " I love you to the moon and back" and Rylee has started in on that, but she doesn't really ever get it quite right. It's hilarious! She usually says "Mom, I love you in the moon" the other day I said "I love you to the moon and back" and she replied " I love you to the moon in front". She cracks me up every day. She will be starting dance next Monday and is so excited. Back in June when Brikayla had her recital, Rylee kept asking when it was her turn to get on the stage. She'll love it this year...if she's not too shy. I'm a little worried about that! She is really excited to start class though. 15th Ry turns 3! Already! Can't believe it! We're planning on getting ice cream and going to see Finding Nemo in 3D. Sunday will be her Minnie Mouse party! I don't think I've ever seen someone who likes Minnie so much. HAHA. She talks about her, about meeting her at Disneyland and going to her house, if you ask her what she wants for her birthday, she says Minnie Mouse presents, and when you ask her what kind, she says anything with Minnie on it. She's too cute. So for her party, I've been preparing for awhile, I've got some decorations made up, I'm doing a whole dessert table with Minnie and Mickey things - beause she has as many friends that are boys as girls ;) We're excited about that! I think it will be a lot of fun! I've gotten a few ideas from Pinterest. Then, the following Friday we leave for California!! It seems like it's getting so close, but is still so far at the same time. I really can't wait. The girls are the perfect ages this time. They are going to love it so much! Crazy busy month, but it is making the time go by so fast, and making so many fun memories at the same time!
Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-14804149986236551522012-08-24T11:56:00.002-07:002012-08-24T12:13:24.241-07:0060 Day Challenge Update!A few posts ago I talked about the 60 day challenge Jay and I started when we had around 60 days left til our California vacaton. It's basically just a challenge for myself. I wanted to better me! I've been keeping a "journal" about it. I write down what type of exercising we do that day, and if there are any major things that happen (like Suzannes birthday and our anniversary weekend) so we can take those into account when we have our "weigh ins". Jay mostly started doing this for me, so I could have some support and wasn't trying to be healthier while there were a lot of temptations in the house. So he is doing better than he was, but still not being as strict as I am. We don't really have much junk food in the house. Snacks now usually consist of things like string cheese, veggies and fruits. Every once in awhile a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich ;) I've been doing the Brazil Butt Lift workouts every day, with the exception of this week, I've been sick and the bouncing around was not working with my head that felt like it was going to pop. We've been doing family walks, we hiked on our anniversary weekend, I've been adding jumproping in when I can. It's definately been a journey! My goal was to lose ten pounds, and Jay's was to lose 13 pounds. Today is day 34, so we're a little over halfway done with the "challenge" and as of this morning, I am down 9.5 pounds! At our last weigh in Jay was down 5 pounds. :) I'm pretty proud of myself for sticking with this. I'm almost to my goal and we're only a little more than halfway. I won't stop at my goal either though, I'm going to lose as much as I can before we go!
Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-91823395592346159572012-08-21T19:55:00.004-07:002012-08-24T09:12:45.620-07:00Anniversary Weekend 2012

We didn't have a lot of money to spend this year, and we originally thought of just getting a room in park city and maybe doing the Alpine Slide. Well, after we thought about it more, we decided instead of getting a room for 80-100.00 why not just sleep at home (we moved our mattress into the family room so we at least felt like we werent sleeping in the same old place ;)) and spend that hotel money on doing a few things we've been wanting to do.

So my Aunt Candi and Uncle Cody adore our kids - they have five of their own ranging in age from 5 to 16, who also love them too - and they were gracious enough to take our girls for the weekend! Jay brought the girls up there on Thursday night and we picked them up Sunday.

Friday night when Jay got home from work, I made sure I was pretty much ready so he could shower and throw on some clothes and we could head out. We had a gift card to Applebees so we decided that's where we'd go that night. I LOVE getting dressed up - even though we didn't go anywhere real fancy, I still wanted to get dressed up to go out! So we got all fancy and headed out on the bike to Applebees - after that we went to a few stores to pass a couple hours until The Dark Knight Rises started. Jay has really been wanting to see it, so we decided this weekend was a good opportunity to do so. The movie didn't start until 10:20 and I knew it was almost 3 hours, and in a way I wasn't all that excited to see it especially since it wouldn't be over til 1:30 in the morning and we were getting up kind of early the next day for our hike. I am really glad we saw it though, I REALLY liked it and it didn't seem as long as it was. I recommend it for sure!

Saturday we woke up and while we were getting our things together for the hike, we realized we didn't have a backpack to put everything in, besides Brikayla's new princess backpack she got for school. So we headed to Family Dollar, which luckily opened a little early and we were able to pick one up for 3.00 :) We cruised on the bike down to Timponogos Cave. I was so excited that Jay brought this up when we were thinking of things to do! I have been wanting to go for at least 2 years, we just hadn't made the time for it and I figured since I hadn't been in at least 10 years, and Jay didn't know if he'd ever been, it would be perfect for us to do together. Our hike time was 9:50. We got there with a couple minutes to spare and headed up the mountain! We both knew it was going to be a good hike, we just didn't realize how much. HAHA. After like five minutes both of our calves were killing us. We haven't hiked in a few years so it definately took some getting used to. The views on the hike are amazing! I can't wait to take the girls next year. It is so pretty on your way up! I felt like we were going slow, even though we were passing a few people, but our tour time of the cave was 11:20, we made it to the cave entrance at 10:40 - I guess we were moving faster than I thought ;) So we sat back and relaxed for a minute and watched the squirrels and chipmunks. After a few minutes, Jay decided to ask one of the rangers if there was any way of going through any earlier. So we were lucky enough to go in on the 10:50 tour. *side note: everywhere we went this weekend there was always a crying/fussy/loud baby or young child. It was kind of funny, it didn't bother us because we've all been there, but in a weird way it made me miss my kids and made me happy we were alone all at the same time. Anyway, on our tour there was a family with four kids and then also another group of 7 people, then us. The family with the four kids had the crying baby, the mom was really sweet and stayed at the back of the group so that everyone else could hear the tour guide.

The caves were even more awesome than I remember! If you haven't been, or it's just been awhile, I highly recommend going! I know the girls will love it when we go! I love all the different colors and textures and think it's amazing that most of it is created by earth - water, wind, different things like nickel, iron etc can turn the formations different colors. The floors are all completely wet, each door to a new room has to be shut before you open the next to avoid wind howling through the cave. It really is amazing! So we were nearing the end of the tour, only about five minutes left and we were standing in one of the rooms looking at some of the formations that the ranger was telling us about. The next 60 seconds were slow motion/the fastest 60 seconds ever. We hear a flashlight hit the ground, the rangers eyes bug out of his head, a guy jump over the railing down about 6 feet and then a little girls cries/screams and then the woman with the now sleeping baby yelling to Jay to take her baby and she shoves the baby into Jays arms. Their little girl, who was about 2 or 3 had slipped off the edge down about 6 feet and was wedged between two rocks face down. My heart dropped! It was so scary to witness! A man from the other group of 7 had jumped over first, then the girls Dad and they were trying to get her up to safety. She was screaming and crying so loud. When the man touched the girls ribs, she screamed so loud. They got her unwedged and up to the cave floor, and the assistant ranger took the family out to meet some of the other rangers. The rest of us continued the tour, although I couldn't really concentrate after what just happened. We headed down the mountain after the tour and stopped to talk to some rangers about half way down, we asked if the girl was ok, and they had no idea what we were talking about. We told them what happened and one of the rangers said if it would have been really serious, they would have radioed them, so that gave us a little relief. After a couple more minutes on the trail, we ran into the Mom and the 3 other kids, and asked how she was. She told us she had a cut by her eye, she pinched her fingers and probably has bruised ribs. At the bottom, we found the Dad and the little girl and they were reading some books, and the little girl had some pretzels and was all smiles. I am so glad that she was ok! Definately a scary experience with a good outcome! Even though we had that scare, I'm really glad we went, it was a lot of fun and a great thing to experience with my babe! After the hike, we headed to Subway for some lunch then home to get showered and ready for the rest of our day. We headed up to Park City around 2 to go on the Alpine Slide. The line was kind of long, but it moved rather quick. We got put on the ski lift with a man and his probably 18 month/ 2 year old. (Enter crying child #2) The first half or so the kid was fine, he loved looking around at everything, but after that he was done. He was crying and saying that he wanted to get off and everything the Dad tried to distract him with, just didn't work. I felt bad for the guy! We made it up and once we were off the lift, the boy was all smiles :) We hadn't been on it since we were dating and I forgot how fun it is! It was a blast! Around 5 we headed to Baja Cantina - our FAVORITE place to eat. If you like mexican food, you need to try it! I love it! We have gone there for our last three anniversaries now :) This was where we encountered crying baby #3 haha. She wasn't too bad though, she was probably only 3 or 4 months old and was so cute! She just fussed a little bit, wasn't even really crying.

After dinner we headed to the outlet malls to look around, we each ended up getting a shirt and just having a good time shopping without worrying about any little ones ;) The ride back down the canyon was a little cold at first but by the time we were down to the valley, we were dying of heat. We ended up going to Leatherbys and sharing Amy's Hot Fudge Brownie. Definately a weakness of ours!

Sunday we got to sleep in with no interruptions! Woohoo! We headed to IHOP for brunch and right after we ordered, some people were seated at the table next to us and I wasn't really paying much attention, but then Jay typed in to his phone and slid it across the table to me so I could read it "It's the crying baby" at first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then I looked over and saw that there was a couple with a little boy about a year old sitting next to us. I thought it was quite funny, but the little boy was actually really good :) After brunch we hung out for awhile, went home and took a nap then headed to pick up our girls!

Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-24316944069986278592012-08-14T09:24:00.002-07:002012-08-14T09:38:10.843-07:00"60 Day Challenge"So back in March or so, I got the Brazil Butt Lift DVD's and started working out and eating a little better. I did really well for about a month, then my friend wanted to try out the DVD's. while they weren't in my posession, I lost all motiviation :( I still kept off the few pounds I had lost, but I didn't lose anymore. I tried doing my Turbo Jam DVD's, but it just wasn't the same. I was doing everything on my own and my motivation had vanished.
Well, a few weeks ago, we had 61 days til we leave for California. So I asked Jay if he would try to eat healthier, eat less, and work out a little with me so I could have someone to keep me motivated. I was so happy that he agreed! So that night we went out and bought some groceries - ALL healthy food - no candy or bad snacks. If you know Jay, you know that's pretty crazy :) That first week we did eat our healthy things, but also we didn't take it too seriously - we did start going on family walks, which I've always wanted to do, but we never made the time for it. We didn't do that well that week though, I ate a lot of stuff that afterward I was bummed about. Our Sunday weigh in came around, and Jay had lost 5 pounds, but I had gained 2 oz's. I was bummed! It seriously kicked my butt into gear! That next week, I did really well on eating fewer calories, little snacks/meals every 2 or 3 hours. I worked out a lot more than I had that first week (Brazil Butt Lift, elliptical, walking) and it paid off - I was down 4 pounds! It may sound silly, but even those 4 pounds, I felt like my clothes fit a little looser, I was extatic! It kept up my motivation, and even though Jay isn't doing this as much as I am, it feels good that he's by my side :) I'm not cutting out all goodies or anything like that. Just like Aug 7 was Suzannes birthday, so we went to Leatherby's for dinner! I ate a chicken finger basket, then Jay and I shared ice cream, but between breakfast and lunch that day, I had only had about 400 calories, so I didn't mind going crazy for a night! Last week I lost another 4.5 pounds! So, in the last 2 weeks I have lost 8.5 pounds and it makes me so excited! My goal for our 60 days was to lose 10 pounds, I'm almost there and we're not even half way done with our 60 days. I'm going to keep going and see how much I can lose by the time we go! I feel so good, have more energy and I love going on walks with my family!
Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-29739091602760809532012-08-06T23:09:00.005-07:002012-08-06T23:52:04.624-07:00Update!So I was thinking it had only been a few months since my last update on my girls, but it turns out it was clear back in October. My how time flies!!

Brikayla just celebrated her half birthday - can't believe she's 5 1/2! She will be starting school the end of this month which she is soo excited about! We've been going on family walks a lot lately and everytime we say it's time for a walk, she asks if we can walk to HER school. She's proud to call it that. She's going to be in all day kindergarten which I am excited about :) It will be great! She of course knows all her alphabet, and knows a lot of the sounds each letter makes as well. She can count to 100, has been doing small math equations and things like that, she is a little smarty!
She LOVED being in dance class! She was one of the best ones in her dance class when they had their summer recital. Not gonna lie, I cried when she was up there dancing. It was so awesome to see, I was so proud of her! During the month of July she also did princess dance camp which she loved as well!
Brikayla still loves to sing - she catches on really quickly to the words in a song. After a few times hearing it, she knows all the words. She is shy though, if you pay attention to her singing, so when you're listening, you can't look at her or she stops ;)
She and Rylee love to play house, sometimes one of them is a dog, and the other is the owner, most the time though, one is the mom and the other is the daughter. They even have names they use when they play - Brikayla is 'Sara' and Rylee is 'Nyla' and they really stick to it each time they play, it is quite hilarious!
Jay built the girls a playhouse in our back yard which they have just loved to have. They play house out there, bring out their pillow pets, they have pots/pans/food out there to cook meals etc. It is so much fun to have! My hubby is pretty talented!
Brikayla is still really outgoing, she makes friends everywhere and that is one thing I am excited for her to go to school for. I'm excited to see all the friends she makes, all the fun things she learns and the excitement she has for new things.
One thing she can't stop talking about is California! She is soo excited to go to Disneyland mostly, but she's excited for it all. Everyday she takes one piece of our Minnie countdown, she really can't wait! She's a little apprehensive though too, telling us she doesn't want to go on Tower of Terror or the Haunted Mansion, like she did last time, but I keep explaining to her that she's older now and it won't be so scary. We'll see how it goes when she goes on them again :)
I was watching a show the other day about this cute little girl Kenadi, who has Primordial Dwarfism (sp?). She is 7 years old, but is obviously much smaller than the average 7 year old. Well, Brikayla is 5.5 and taller than the average 7 year old! She is 46 inches tall! It's crazy. She wears size 13 or 1 shoes already. She's just like Jay!

Rylee is getting way too big too! She will be 3 next month! Crazy!! She asked for a Minnie Mouse birthday party this year, she is pretty much obsessed lately! We've started planning her party and I know it will be lots of fun!
She had tumbling class this summer and she had so much fun! She listened pretty well to the teacher, could do most everything that was asked of her and was so proud when her teacher told her she had big muscles. lol. She came right home and told Jay. :)
Rylee talks really well. She's pretty easy to understand for her age for the most part. There are a few things she doesn't pronounce quite right and it is just my most favorite thing! The best is "noo nacks" (fruit snacks). She also says "peep" instead of keep. Just like today. She was sitting at the table eating cereal and out of nowhere says "Mom, I want to peep my hair like this. I don't want a haircut, I just want to peep it long." I love it! Instead of picture, she says "shichure" which I love. She also uses a "sh" sound instead of her J's and a few other letters just like in "schichure" She calls our friends Josh and Erica "Shosh and America or Ayka".
Rylee's favorite thing to eat hands down are noo nacks.
Rylee loves to color, play outside, workout with me and play learning games on my kindle. She knows her alphabet, can count to 20 or more depending on the day and loves learning new things. It is so funny when Suzanne tries to say something is a different color and she corrects her. For example, awhile back Suzanne was saying that a pink balloon was blue, and Rylee would say, "no, it's pink!" and they went back and forth a few times with blue or pink, blue or pink and finally Rylee said "No, Grandma, it is pink, you need to learn your colors!" She is a feisty one! Definately little miss Sassy!
Rylee can't wait to go to Disneyland either, she is so excited about seeing Minnie! I'm a little nervous though, because when we were at Chick Fil A a month or so ago, the person in the cow costume was there and she FREAKED out hysterically - hopefully Minnie is a different story! ;) I'm hoping Rylee will grow four inches in the next month (ok, I know it's never going to happen) But I can hope right? haha. She definately takes after me in the height department! She's only 36 inches, and a lot of the bigger rides you have to be 40 inches to ride, maybe tall shoes and big hair will work?! :)
Rylee is much less outgoing, especially at first. She's really shy just like I am. Jay and I were talking about it the other day, and Brikayla really is just like him, and Rylee just like me. It's crazy how much they are total opposite but so much the same at the same time.
I love these girls so much. It is so fun watching them grow and develop. They are amazing little girls and they bring us so much happiness!!!
A few pictures from the last few months:

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; So Jays parents watched the girls so Jay and I could ride the motorcycle over there and the food was of course delicious, especially since for some reason the girl only charged us for our sandwhiches and not everything else we ordered - anyway, it was a great night out :)
I got home Saturday night to beautiful flowers and a card from Jay. I also got a great massage which was very nice! The plan for the next day was to visit Jays Mom, (my mom was in Vegas) and then head to my aunts house for our monthly family party at 5. Sunday morning the girls gave me the cute cards that they had made me. Those are my favorite! Rylee had woke up with a cough and fever so I felt very bad for her. Jays parents called and said they wanted to take us out for lunch, so we decided on Apollo Burger - another one of my favorites! When we got to Apollo Burger, Rylee started coughing really bad and ended up throwing up all over herself, and me. My arm, pants and sandals got hit. It wasn't pretty. I cared more that she wasn't feeling so good. Once she threw up though, she seemed to feel much better. :) Lunch was still delicious despite the mishap. After lunch, we headed back to Jays parents to hang out. When I went inside, Brikayla was climbing in the tree in their front yard like she always does, and a few minutes later I hear Brikayla start crying and saying owie. I hear Jay telling her that that's why she shouldn't be climbing in the tree. When I asked him what happened he said "knowing her, she broke her arm"...she had jumped up and grabbed a branch, then was walking her feet up the trunk of the tree almost so she was in a laying position, when she lost her grip and all her weight fell on her elbow. She didn't scream or anything, but she didn't stop crying/whining either. After five minutes or so of her not stopping, I took a closer look at it and noticed it was swelling. We decided we'd better take her in because she wouldn't move it either. We left Rylee with Jay's parents and took Kayla to instacare. After waiting forever, we were called back and after the doctor had her try to move her arm, with no success, they took her back for xrays. She sat on Jay's lap while they did and she was in a lot of pain. We went back to the room and a few minutes later, the doctor had us look at the xrays. She broke her actual elbow - the part where it gets bigger at the end of the bone. The nurse put a splint on it and gave her a sling and gave us instructions to call Primary Childrens the next day to set up a time to get her cast. (The next morning I called and they said we would wait until the following Wednesday - which was ten days later - so we're still waiting!)

We still ended up heading to my Aunt's house even though we were almost two hours late. I'm glad we did - it's always good to see my family. We also got to pick up Brikayla's flower girl dress she'll be wearing for my cousins wedding.
All in all I got a few reminders of how much my girls need me ;) and how much I love being a mom through the good and the bad. I love making memories!Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-6237145666569993052012-05-08T23:12:00.000-07:002012-05-08T23:12:10.224-07:00RandomA few months ago my mom got the girls a powerwheel moped type thing, they just love it!

We also got the trampoline set up that they got for Christmas. It has been a big hit and is a great motivator for them to keep their room clean! They aren't aloud to jump on the tramp unless their room is clean :)

Rylee fell and cut her lip open when she was running at my parents house. It was really bad and she has a little scar there now. She was a trooper though. She only cried for a second and then was up and trying to run around within minutes of it happening.

At the beginning of April, I found a great deal on the Pass Of All Passes - they were only 9.99 each - Ry was free and so was Ron. The POAP is a card that gets you into a lot of different places such as Trafalga, Seven Peaks water park, some of the Bees games, Some Rocky Mountain Raceways events, a lot of other sporting events throughout the valley etc. Well we decided to go to Trafalga and get our first use out of it! It really was a great deal because just that trip alone would have cost us over 80.00 probably, and we did it for 40.00 and it's still good until next April! The girls loved mini golf, Brikayla climed the rock wall twice - she did so good and go so high, unfortunately she had sandals on, so next time we go we are going to have her wear tennis shoes :) We all had dippn dots and of course they loved the carousel and the airplanes. I'm really looking forward to getting a lot of use out of those passes!

It hasn't even been a week since she I decided to try to get rid of the diapers, and she only had accidents for the first two days, other than that she has done just perfect! The only thing I can say is that now that she goes in the potty, she feels the need to go ALL the time - we had to run some errands today and every store we went to she had to go potty - some of the stores didn't have potty's so I had to have her hold it, which she did :) Same with car rides - she has done so well! If she says she has to go, I tell her to hold it and she's done great! She doesn't even ask for a treat from her potty treat jar all the time, only about half the time :) It makes me happy that she's potty trained, I was hoping to have it done before we go to California in September and she is definately ready!Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-5176738770786057172012-05-02T20:33:00.001-07:002012-05-02T20:33:18.556-07:00Rylee vs PottySo about a week or so ago, we were at Walmart and Brikayla had to go potty. We went into the bathroom and while Brikayla was going, Rylee said she needed to go. I decided I’d put her on there just to see. She went! A few days later, again at Walmart, she did the same thing. Saturday we were at Chick Fil A and she just said “I need to go potty” and she did. Sunday we were at Red Robin and she did the same thing, 15 minutes later she told me she was poopy so I took her into the bathroom, but she wasn’t. I asked her if she needed to go and she said yes, so I put her up there and she pooped in the potty. I was really proud of her J All the while though, any time we were at home she would just pee in her diaper. I would ask if she wanted to wear underwear and she would say no, that she liked her diapers. She said big girls wear diapers.
Well, yesterday she did the same thing when we were at Walmart. I asked for some advice on Facebook last night and mostly everyone said to just get rid of the diapers and put her in underwear. Today we started at 9:00. I changed her (hopefully) last diaper. Then I put her in 1 of 3 pairs of training underwear we have. I asked her every so often if she needed to go. Every time she told me no. Then, accident number 1. I explained to her there were only 2 pair of training underwear left. I put the second pair on her and continued with what I was doing. Accident number 2. I put the last pair of training underwear on her and explained to her there were no more. Continued what I was doing. She came running into me and said “I’m peeing Mom.” She had gone a little in the underwear, I put her on the toilet and she finished on the toilet. I gave her one of her treats and told her good job, told her to try to tell me a little sooner so she wouldn’t pee in the underwear at all. At this point the other 2 pair were still in the washer. So, I got out her My Little Pony underwear that Grandma had bought her and told her she couldn’t pee or poop on the ponies because they would be sad. She was asking if she could have one of her potty treats, but I told her they were only for when she went on the toilet. A little while later she came running and said she had to pee. I put her up there and she went! About an hour and a half later, same thing happened! An hour later she went again! I hear running and “I need to go potty, I need to go potty!” She made it! She ended up going 3 more times! 1 time she dribbled a little in her underwear, but made it to the toilet. So proud of her. I'd say day one of Rylee vs Potty, Rylee is the winner :) Tomorrow morning Grandpa Sphar will be watching the girls, so I hope she does as good for him as she did for me!Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-47989388747285920952012-04-05T15:29:00.002-07:002012-04-05T15:55:14.994-07:00Getting Healthy!So over the years I have tried to start an exercise plan/diet plan etc. I would try to make it to the gym, I would try to completely cut every candy/cookie/fast food anything bad out of my diet. After two days I would feel the need to sneak some candy or a cookie and it would turn into more than just one. Or I would make an excuse to not make it to the gym, or not be able to find a babysitter. It just doesn't work for me to completely get rid of everything! Well last Sunday, March 25 while at my parents, I weighed myself (which I do every other Sunday when we go there for dinner because we don't have a scale at home, and I wasn't doing anything productive, I just wanted to make sure I was within my 1 to 2 pounds that I usually fluctuate.) Well, anyway - I was 3 pounds heavier than my highest "normal" weight. I had been really snacky the last two weeks so it made sense. That made me really uncomfortable, and gave me the willpower I needed to start being healthier - in general. I decided I wasn't going to do a "diet", I was just going to eat healthier. I would eat smaller portions more times a day - I would actually eat breakfast since I never really do. Also, I wasn't going to go to the gym - with two kids and a job, it's hard to find time to go to the gym when I actually could get a babysitter. So, I decided I was finally going to use my Turbo Jam DVDs, Jay bought an elliptical with extra money he had received and also bought me the Brazil Butt Lift DVDs which I had been wanting for awhile.
This time was different. Something inside me just really wanted to do this for me. I wasn't going to give up after 2 days like usual. I found something I could do - working out at home and just eating better was going to work for me :)
**I'm not claiming to be super healthy or know everything about working out and eating right ;) I'm doing what works for me.
I talked to a few friends who are pretty healthy people to get some ideas. I have started out my days with drinking 1 cup of "green juice" Naked makes one and also Bolthouse Farms makes one. It's really good for you and full of vitamins and stuff to boost you each morning. It's kind of expensive, but you're only drinking one cup a day, so it lasts awhile. Then for breakfast I usually have a bowl of fruit with either cottage cheese or yogurt on it and 1 or 2 pieces of wheat toast with peanut butter on it. Snacks I've been having yogurt or unsalted almonds, string cheese, fruit or veggies. Lunches have consisted mostly of lettuce wraps (which are surprisingly really good!) or salad. Dinner I just try to eat a homecooked meal, which aren't always the most healthy ever, but I just eat less than I normally would. If I'm not home, I'll just have a weight loss shake.
So I started with Turbo Jam on Monday March 26, when we got the elliptical I worked that in as well. I traded off on the workouts I did, and I worked out every day, some days it was a half hour, some days an hour. Sunday was my free day where I could eat whatever I wanted (in moderation) and I didn't work out, although I'm thinking I still want to work out on Sundays, just something low key. This Tuesday I got my Brazil Butt Lift DVD's in the mail, and although I had done the 40 minute cardio Turbo Jam, I figured I'd get started on the BBL too, and the next morning I felt it for sure ;) Yesterday was the ab and cardio workouts, and today I am feeling it! Today Tiff came over and did the Bum Bum and ab workouts with me and I was already so sore, it was hard to do, but we got through it!
I've lost 5 pounds in 11 days which makes me happy, and more determined to keep it going! I'm excited to look back at this post in 57 days and see where I'm at after finishing the 60 day BBL Challenge.
Again, I know I'm not eating as healthy as I could or anything, I'm just doing better and what works for me! :) This post is mostly just for me to look back at!Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-86378218738006365582012-02-15T09:21:00.000-08:002012-02-15T09:36:44.623-08:00Brikayla's "Haircut"On January 15 2012 Jay was working overtime at work, doing their annual inventory. He was working all day. I had put Rylee down for a nap, and I was really tired too so I decided to put a movie on for Brikayla, and lay on the other couch and try to take a nap. While I was napping, Brikayla woke me up and asked why she was so itchy. I didn't think anything of it, told her I didn't know and to watch the movie. Right about the same time the movie ended, Rylee woke up from her nap. I turned the light on and Brikayla again asked why she was so itchy. When I looked at her, I burst into tears. She had completely chopped her hair. I looked around and didn't see any hair so I asked her where her hair was and she showed me that she had shoved it in between the couch cushions - I have no idea why, I guess she knew she would be in trouble or something. I asked her what she used to cut her hair, I repeatedly asked her why she cut it in between my sobs. She took me to where the scissors were - right back where they should be. I had made sure before I fell asleep that the craft room was locked, to avoid things like this. The lock on the door though is just a slit - you can stick anything in there - like a penny or even your thumb nail or something. She figured out how to unlock it and knew where I kept my scissors because she sometimes does crafts with me.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuh4emMB7FsbGCdPZBHLZO7-kKYFD89FJu4419m6gaZQKIBEY6HXtfAfJmTDzfslV2fb_q6RDpODFcQHHXBF0UnqMHlcwDMavKqQO66c1PgqiX1zEVKEqlL7h6tWfZjcD3E28jsoGkAzT3/s320/kaylas+.haircut+004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5709417140905533762" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQMGInqDMI5W2vUkDOVgjUi70IUA8lU7CTBAK1qITbMvKj1lIbv7mapqOavn0Ep84sBv8K9FU2ryWi-FVeFSBOsGGY6VxmkEzSMreiSovDpqiqUWEraFm4u8BmGGFDJz69xwiZdxiCMQDs/s320/kaylas+.haircut+003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5709417132528347154" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHv1bfYk1HaYRFNjYNb_C1eWyOVqpY8I2Njl-qINF5zSA-Uq0zb_I9sj5fJvJfye9_xMcLyhQzFsU5eTRfnzJaeY_0XNDbPTrMtGK4wctfwGdSsYcvrHNXvZySaAfsItT1y6zREb_GF6AF/s320/kaylas+.haircut+002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5709417120926726066" />
I didn't know what to do, especially with it being a Sunday afternoon. Most places were closed. I packed up the girls and headed to my parents, hoping for some insight. They calmed me down and everything, then offered to watch Rylee so I could go have Brikayla's hair "fixed". When we got to the salon, I was still crying and showed them what had happened. I was actually quite happy with the result. I sent Jay a picture message with the before and after. He was pretty shocked to say the least.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJkF_1uFn35RKbIi4GyssMGDMnrEpBh-qlpb-CrrS_hlTl0jcYF_cXPbq8OKr0oxWqLW71ZnC3a1iOPrwLAGZmpHB5mXjpE1PrUHD8EdLgCg4_o1FpS9Llpjlu9a_u_FMxzi1XD4CmcuGX/s320/Web-66.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5709417144694188818" />
Brikayla looks really cute with short hair, but she still wants to grow her hair out. It's only been a month since it happened, and it is already growing out quite a bit. I don't know what to do while it's growing out. It's growing over her ears and everything right now. I asked Brikayla if she wanted to get it cut again and she insisted she just wants to grow it out. So that's what we'll be trying for now. :)Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-35244497396817928132012-02-01T07:38:00.000-08:002012-02-01T08:12:50.603-08:00Brikayla Jae - Feb 2 2007Tomorrow my "Baby Girl" turns 5. How has it already been 5 years!? I remember like it was yesterday. 1 30 am February 2 I had a dream that I was peeing on the toilet (weird I know right?) which caused me to wake up and run to the toilet. Well, my water broke right as I sat down!! I called Jays name 4 times without any response, so I then yelled "Jay, my water just broke!!" He then jumped out of bed and said "What do we do now?" I had him call the doctor. Then we called our parents- in the middle of the night! We headed to Cottonwood Hospital and when I got out of the truck, it felt like my water broke again. My pants were soaked. We walked in the doors and the guy at the front desk rushed over to a wheel chair and had me sit in it. He took us over to where we were supposed to be and we got all checked in. I hadn't really had any contractions yet, I tried to sleep since it was so early in the morning still, but couldn't really - I faded in and out of sleep for the next few hours. Jay slept just fine - on the floor. LOL. My mom showed up a little after 4 am, and shortly thereafter I got my epidural. My contractions had started picking up by that point. I had a ton of ice chips, I remember being soo hungry and couldn't eat, that was one of the worst feelings. Jays parents and my Dad showed up around 7 or 8. I was progressing a little, but nothing major. They had me on pitocin to speed things up. By about 1:00 pm not only was I starving, but I was dilated to a 10. :) My doctor was on vacation, (even though the day Brikayla came, was her actual due date) so I had the on call doctor there. Mindy - she was really sweet, I liked her a lot. I thought it would be like the movies where you have your feet in the stirrups(spelling?) Jay would be standing on one side of my head holding my hand and my mom would be on the other side doing the same. No, instead they were each holding one of my feet and Mindy told me to push. I pushed and pushed but Brikayla was starting to turn the wrong way, so Mindy had me lay on my side to get her to turn back, but when I would turn over, my epidural would wear off and boy was it painful! They upped my dose and I felt better, but again every time I would turn to my side it would wear off. Brikaylas heartrate was starting to go down every time I would push also. So, after more than three hours of pushing, they took me in for an emergency C section! I was so worn out/tired/scared all at the same time. I was so glad Jay was with me. I was so exhausted that all I remember about the next half hour or so was a blue tarp and holding Jays hand. Then at 5:09 pm, Brikayla Jae was born! 7 pounds 0 ounces 20 inches long. Jay and I both had tears in our eyes and he just kept saying how beautiful she was :) He remembers them telling him to walk around me and go see her, and he said he "saw my insides on the outside and almost threw up". The next few hours were kind of a blur - I felt so bad for everyone who came to visit, I was in and out of sleep since I hadn't had hardly any sleep in the last 48 hours. Definately one of the best days of my life! So glad I have Brikayla as my daughter, she is so beautiful and friendly and super smart. I love you Kayla!Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-45530535303178438872012-01-05T13:38:00.000-08:002012-01-05T14:13:15.602-08:00ChristmasChristmas morning I think I was more excited than the girls! I woke up at 7 and couldn't sleep anymore, so by 7 45 I tried to wake up the girls, without them seeing me, so I grabbed their remote, turned on their tv and turned the volume up, a little rustle but NOTHING. So I turned it off and tried the same thing again, still nothing! I went and nudged Brikayla, but still nothing...so I started knocking on their door really loud, finally I saw Brikayla getting up, so I booked it to my room. ( I was hoping she would wake up, remember that Santa came and get all excited) but...she came into my room and said, "Mom, someone keeps knocking on my door and its waking me up!" so I responded "maybe it was Doodle (our elf on the shelf) trying to remind you that Santa came. (I know I know I'm worse than a kid!) Thats when it clicked, and she got so excited. Usually Santa brings presents to our tree in our family room, but this year since they got bikes and everything, he brought them to our living room - well we still went into the family room to get our stockings first, and when Brikayla saw that there were no presents, she got all upset, but there was a note from Santa that explained, so that quickly passed :)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9Sj_o640UhAcrzSeCyCWh1Zatht38-t9C9ISpjxzzVRC74JonQG9PA8qI9i6e9Yk2_E1FfZ5mGwT2frvBoebBhRH_rtw2FZ-BLY215vztlNLxDvXVxtkF-TKRoKFLAyEVHHyyVo3rTc1N/s320/christmas2011+029.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5694274076480955010" />

When the girls saw the bikes, they were so excited! Out there, we exchanged gifts and ate breakfast sandwhiches. Around 1:30 we headed to Bountiful to my grandparents house to spend some time there. Its always good to see them, we need to do it more often. They sure love their great grand daughters :) Around 5:30 we headed back to the Draegers for dinner and some games. At 6:30 we headed to my parents house like we do every Christmas Eve. The girls were excited to tell everyone what they had asked Santa for - Brikayla asked for a LaLaLoopsy doll, and a bike. Rylee asked for a bike as well. They sent him a letter this year and he sent back video messages which the girls really loved! (magicsanta.ca) We all decorated salt dough ornaments, which is the first time we've done this and it was a lot of fun! We loved spending time together and eating junk and whatnot.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi23gf2FFfIfGFpW_HY5q6tPWgYgQO-chUZZ8Whsaml4AxiM_b_-OSjtq1LxGBLvTn9yl24T66k9nkKTGeGbrNrLO9dOkJRSqjTBgAIs7WLeTkJRVbAd5bJvTQaQUtYi-a-an1WvJlR9UNb/s320/christmas2011+005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693452540055478082" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWNvqS5-uAdzj_X9PpQud9BsGGLrrwvGMdbASHztHflGP_CA3dcGnsy9kLQyYDddDtnKwYcH7K5Ksb_L-PRJ2wetIIgWHQKiUadpTV4kBs2u_jq7ImSROPNW9FJCOGaGqqgfyp6R7WokJ1/s320/christmas2011+004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693452526037090290" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAjqErHCEkukZ1TXlrBHowyi4szo73Crq3h4aS7viWuOpV25qD1C0F4e1fFOInhQOkxtkkV75rqZDbEE1Zm8_I60JNgdARs49vcC27an9jM5ntRekEJwfdIJdsVXl1v4EvPMgWgsKhp7CR/s320/christmas2011+003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693452524067226242" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtXqOQc8UFHs6Wxcf78ScZLY1kH99RvK7qGsBOJu3TQL1BsUQ44xPcZZxkyb-Y0bnQAMCEDbSAIo6WyH9IvQB0GocycfI2VWRTOxPMVfAO1cdn8amXjGcTPz9j-K20ZoMLL3JPwBE3-_RD/s320/christmas2011+013.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693453685969099714" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipocLim-TlzuyUv7GFneovw19sQbeLoAzZBJiq-QlUy-OtHbXxDlus9U9cQgcuVAKpvZK2rYk01ATwxLuo4m4c9f_kRmri18AVNXTsA8RLzVi0eSjBEFJxs032izEFTpIjsJgiTJKzDX89/s320/christmas2011+011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693453673351135218" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgw6kOErRMF42lp3BHwD2yVzcKELP9qEhBa1qbaQYkivt1cdJ5xiWoNYIizLEG8g-SIpCM-zHSB8tP-bhWvJyw09xm0uSN5vTHnjJJpEeH-48SRzkOEs3uKIOO-pdngr4O4xiLlAygXOIJS/s320/christmas2011+010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693453663597653250" />

Around 10 pm we all opened up our pjs - I got Brikayla some LaLaLoopsy pj's, thought she'd love them. They go down to Lehi on Christmas Eve, so its the only time we have to do it. They took us out to eat at one of my favorite restaurants - Spaghetti Factory! It was definately delicious!! This year we were completely and totally spoiled by them. Jay is an only child, so our girls are the only Grandkids.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMWoURZ8YqB-yEuLseGw-aORyqxZ5UorshVff_Z2Rk79zLnaVeeCK492WY67teGKtQkeEWuehvH276SrbGPbQHZ761W_U3p5Kc1w9NhVQ4IMssctCAV6YZg6TxqXioygOGcpBvozf9WwTD/s320/schristmas+011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693290798888744354" />

Brikayla and Rylee got a trampoline. I'm excited that it turned out really well.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6klbVeq498SQERQpEM6ASybah3Y-MamHZLDNEOjFAvZhcjPqVvs0OgW3MJJp0cnGYS7t_qiTFZ4ESEb-4oixwxIggmtB86BfJCWa8npXpXS2fNKjFeBN0phRWWdxKhGEnAjpFW1ZLq0UJ/s320/pillowcase+009.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693290813529853858" />

I'm going to let Brikayla pick out some fabric and make her one for her birthday. I'm also excited to make her some dress up skirts. She wants ones that go down to her ankles and I haven't been able to find any anywhere. I also got a new camera which I was really excited about. Jay got a camp stove with two burners that we will definately get some use out of!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8E0pGN5O2EjoaKqqle7EoPhy2IRPB-Bo2aeqNSqrMNMbv7FC4obErSmsrFdE__tEQXOwoZnrkX1LoaqzqLhjKtoyClofzJYNY41G7b8qMJmVuwO29MbVG0HtMWnJwKNf8XMrfHdDvyaYM/s320/schristmas+012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5693290796865708994" />

He also got a huge cooler, a BluRay player and we all got a bunch of other things as well. I didn't know what to expect, because we hadn't ever done it before, but the Walls invited us to go, so I decided I'd take the girls. Jay was still at work, so I was on my own. Luckily Josh helped with Rylee, who wanted to be carried or I wanted her to be carried because she was holding up the other kids. Anyway, it ended up being a lot of fun, most of the stores in Jordan Landing participated. We walked from the movie theatre all the way over to Carls Jr, who gave out small fries to the kids as their treat, then down by Old Navy and through the strip mall there and back toward the theatre. There were a lot of other stores that were doing it, but the smaller kids were done by this point. The kids had a lot of fun and I'd really like to do it again next year! One thing I need to remember for next year though is to let them use their pumpkin buckets instead of the backpack/bags they used this year. They had to open them every time and they were big and overwhelming.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH2rk35K4HtcRpwV3eQNRzccovr5orFGYZHr-zjudM-N3pWXgBqW6lXsoz0Ng8HOJFiL86OIbwOGfhoJ2oscCe57yMqn4LIbIyx4ZBdmgCgSG_gvx-_Qa27np6DON1KMRc64SVodBgQzte/s320/halloween+006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670440427755598930" />
All the kids - Landen, Logan, Lukus, Brikayla and Rylee

Jay got home from work just before we pulled into the driveway. We had a potty break and got jackets, and headed to Grandma and Grandpa Sphars. Every year we go to their house for pizza before we head out Trick or Treating. We headed out in their neighborhood so Grandma could show off the grandkids to some of her neighbors. The girls had a lot of fun, we met up with Pam, Phong, Manda and their kids for a few minutes.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieJr0nWX7dcbYkjo3pI3D2vq9SiLfP7w6LwvXYxyqRtbf74dNR4jISqY80Vp6_vt9Co_WzvyJU9__tfobFoELP2Mj3_Mt9psr_axLLI1je6bAABkZTSrC3a-ujRjBHguJ2HROwdoK_icNv/s320/halloween+008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670442382957185506" />
Kinda blurry, but the only one I got Rylee Brikayla Kaden and Dylan

When we were done there we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Walkers for a little while. My Dad was out of town, so we just hung out with Grandma for a few minutes. We tried to T or T at a few houses in her circle, but Rylee hadn't had a nap and was not having it. She was done with the whole T or T thing. So we headed home. When we got home, the Walls called and said they were close to our house and made sure we were home. When they got to our house Brikayla and I went Trick or Treating with them. Brikayla LOVED trick or treating this year. It was soo fun to watch her! Especially having kids with her her own age that she could experience it with. She had so much fun! We went out for quite awhile, got home around 9. She got so much candy! Halloween is such a fun Holiday. Its definately one of our favorites. I'm excited for next year when Rylee will be a little more into it!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRiaDIpYOlV2qJmYb-XHNED46y2Sjx84VvIgoUpPKEBZLA5T3tBwUgdgMZN062DAUTuXzl0UKRKfqoTk7_pZayzVuv2pTMoqVS5N1YNLPbjq0sZiSwtUJeZ7tDniAnw366YMp6Z3GOXjRl/s320/halloween+007.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670444273798920002" />
My cute Girls at G & G Sphars

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFJHOuACKjzplI7onIQFzXZbagpUfOLTIWukGtfkK4XgxnCq5wI63zPsd1n9vHUUA2H6Sog3T4C3sKSN5luxgGryRPqhV3wfeC2zGxV6dgjZZ3rIXM6TElYq0kXPw7m4n13NBu6H8Ugfa2/s320/halloween+012.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670444286310049634" />
Trick or Treating!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEib4uVnLQz3PZEM7IoVxCTmTSEl0_NqDhJeguEV5PGiJksdxYUBEv0YIM23anVQ3NBpeH6u1B0_c308EMjsh1e1EzZHM3xZbx9hJSmufmgvkxrOnA9YJlHPBB_rXHxOnqfVi6YIrtavQKXO/s320/halloween+014.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670444319882581906" />
Our yard, without flash
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfOQJt1eHzPwp3iyPDD7MYwD3lB5aXhEKUnvHI8mRreKV02NWOzxnl7PN2EF-wqvHr2Xx8cP1n1wpyMhKNnn04ZwCcjVgYrptzHz0Zv-Dj8i6vlzJvAPefd3aaZ6p0kXkwzBDMIvrft8s1/s320/halloween+013.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670444299927409810" />
With FlashBritniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-54183359862946784462011-10-25T22:28:00.000-07:002011-10-25T23:07:22.033-07:00My Girls
Seems like I just did an update on my girls, but it seemed fitting to do another, its been a few months. Brikayla is going to be 5 in a little over 3 months - its crazy!! She loves dancing and is going to be starting dance class next month! I'm so excited for that and so is she, all she can talk about is needing to get dance outfits and shoes and is so excited to learn!
- she loves to sing and listen to music, one of her favorite songs right now is "moves like jagger" by maroon 5 although she sings "moves like dragon" :)
- she loves chocolate milk, she would drink a whole gallon a day if she could
- she is a picky eater like her dad, although at least lately she will actually try foods, then decide if she likes them rather than just saying she doesn't like anything.
-she loves to annoy her sister lately - she annoys rylee, so rylee cries which annoys me and its a vicious cycle. i'm not liking that stage at all. at least its not all day every day, they get along and like a lot of the same things most the time, and when they do its heaven - i could watch them play together all day!
- she is very excited for her birthday and can't wait to turn 15, i mean 5...lol she acts like a teenager already with her whining and all. she talks about turning 5 so much, she can't wait! she also asked me today when it was going to be 'the time when those little guys turn our milk green' (st patricks day - this year we turned the milk green and set out a few little green gifts for them from the leprechauns. she liked it a lot)
- she still makes friends wherever she goes and loves getting to know people. even at kohls there was another little girl playing in the toy section and she started talking to her right away, and the next time we went, she asked if i thought her friend would be there again.
- she loves halloween, the only part she hates is fog machines - we have two of them and she is not a fan at all.
- she loves to help me out - folding laundry (especially towels), making dinner, vacuuming and dishes
-she means the world to our family and we love her so much!

Rylee girl, as kayla calls her, is turning into a talking machine. Some of my recent favorite words are wya and fya (water and fire) which both sound the same :), cee-o - cereal *which she LOVES, shink - drink, skehton - skeleton, spartle - sparkle...which is what she calls her glittery shoes. she loves them!
- we have my brother and sister and my friend tiffani watch the girls sometimes and lately when there is a knock at the door rylee gets so excited and we'll start running to the door and going through the list - chessie? kishin? tiffie? aaam? (Chelsie, Cristian, Tiffani, Adam - who is tiffs boyfriend/cristians best friend) its so cute! sometimes she even gets mad if its just jay or i. lol.
- she loves halloween too and isnt scared of any of it, she loves it! she loves to push the buttons on all our halloween decorations, especially that skeleton picture frame that sticks out its tongue
- she loves to be outside, she loves to swing and slide
- BABIES are her number one right now. she got oodles of them for her birthday and she carries at least one around pretty much all day. she rocks them, pats them, feeds them, and the cutest today is when she was rocking it and singing "bye bye, bye bye baby" which is like a lullaby that Suzanne sang to her and to Brikayla when they were little.
- she loves to be wrapped up in blankets. and if you take it away, she freaks out! she won't go to bed or take a nap without at least two blankets on her bed. usually her comforter and one extra smaller blanket. plus she has to have her babies on there too, and sometimes toys, just depends on the day.
I love my girls so much and am having so much fun being a mom. Especially this time of year. I love fall and all the fun activities that come with it!! :)

A few recent pictures i love:

<img style="display:block; The girls had so much fun, the animals were definately their favorite. Rylee loved the cows and Brikayla loved the goats. Some of my pictures are from my phone because my camera died, so they aren't the best quality, but thats ok :) The girls rode the ponies and I was surprised with how great Rylee did! She went all by herself without someone walking by her. It was cute and she loved it! Brikayla was a pro and was having the time of her life!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDRwJ2Qbij-I9LulZbGM8d3Zq8Pk1zVWlvheeu5i_oWg01haLWBb4a8u0Ldr2DJgXS4gBQ4RB-vUb6SB4ampPFvJNBO-5JbboQ_KAwvCT8a1ePPmTQ0NHy6RWYjLksYPB1-SnGp140ZXXG/s320/ryleesbirthday+016.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5657449228133468626" /> The girls walking in with Grandpa :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmq27VIDc1jdOwx_ZHruKUhBDOEpnfdCvF8TeYBp7DfgPD38Ojo5rdH-9IFoL1UsGEa7Zznx8vG-w2ygIVDgqjsmTnZvAsfPcGko22hFutXLMDW2HfI1BNIjZbUDM8albABOacNRea42vY/s320/ryleesbirthday+018.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5657449224910226338" /> The donkey...this donkey bit Brikayla on her tummy. She's going to be two in two months from Friday! It's crazy to think! She is talking a lot more lately and its pretty much the cutest ever! She leaves out the middle of most her words. Daddy = Dah-E, Yucky = Yuh-E, Kayla = Kay-A. It's cute :) There are a ton of words she says, some of my favorites are cupcake, outside, yucky, sissy, please, thank you and Ry-E(Rylee). She takes after her sister as Little Miss Sassy. For awhile she would say no for everything, even if she meant yes, and now she will say no, then realize she means yes and get a cute little look on her face and say "yea". She loves to play outside, she's probably the most tan 22 month old i've seen. lol. She is lucky like sister to get mom and dads olive skin. She is a fish just like her sister and loves to be in the water.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO8C8HXOeeEHMacH8gGXloLz60xOGB7PrGOoi-cK1u0IBP-DENbdm9fq74OjmTjQWGbfMzxnCwhJEspwJiTujUTbc8ZKGoNLkI4Z7UE52yBgfDmBewjALWyYBfL2OAbkEKdGdl2SzOOm_M/s320/roovideos+005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628899801052682946" />
Bath time is a favorite at our house. They have a lot of similarities, but a lot of things are different too. Brikayla took after Jay with a lot and Rylee after me. Mostly when it comes to eating, fruit especially. Brikayla and Jay like red apples, peaches, pears, pineapple. Rylee and I like strawberries, green apples, watermelon, kiwi, mandarin oranges. Brikayla loves cheese, Rylee doesn't really care for it. Rylee will eat any kind of meat, Brikayla only likes chicken and meatballs. They both love popsicles, spaghetti, water, and yogurt. Rylee copies everything Brikayla does. It is so much fun to watch them together, they have their moments when they fight, but for the most part Brikayla is just so overprotective of her little sister. Right now Brikayla is learning to write letters. I started with teaching her the alphabet, she can write A-D, but I then decided to teach her her name first. So that is what we're working on right now. She loves kids. She will make friends everywhere she goes. We have even been just at the play area at Chick-fil-a and by the time we leave, she is hugging the other kids and not wanting to leave her new friends. She loves the outdoors! Camping is one of her favorite things.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9G_PbwRhpZ4357jn90_4XJ7c3o1MlXjIGM2T5JstmdzrifWnPhitbjCnQuDA04wq0uYJ4fxFG5TnqZroImTTHAsrHX8aDMBwQNUV7nD1-sGkYoKPH4fCZ2TjBCbXkAo8jyG76CJhUQRr2/s320/campinjune+062.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628886373222341874" />
Brikayla and Rylee Camping June 2010

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUlryJhwHMlZxuJ1QLvigS_3Kz3PFAYE0Trn-Hz9uDDhTdGYuR8_8sHxiUvBOQDPj7uc7mDzfhnJZbkHfgW6xN-4SQPfCY1MtX8WabqKLshpyHg0xLvFUGgsGqK8xplpIBcjIVCUu9unLC/s320/campinjune+013.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628886371508744082" />
Brikayla and Daddy on the fourwheeler

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgF9pnT61ElJN8MhtCSaoYIk-yMVTUicDDhGbAApHt415Y4VvWMocND9fRocO-Ou6K3UQpfA5saplx-i6XMglGX_qVVjWYFkb2pFVfbcHpdFpSBJAAANWKkahPxVB_qTY5ZBqR8_Edvz1B2/s320/campinjune+017.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628886365504811714" />
Brikayla and her friend Lukus camping

She loves getting dirty, she loves riding the fourwheelers, she is a fish too, LOVES the water! She loves barbies and make up, every time i do my make up she asks if she can have some too, so i'll put on the lightest shade of eyeshadow to make her happy :) A few weeks ago, we went to my sisters dance recital and afterward she was telling Jay about it and when he asked what her favorite part was, she replied "the part when it was over" Jay and I cracked up, and whenever anyone laughs at something she said she always replies with "I'm just kidding" and comes up with what she thinks is a better answer. She loves playing games and doing puzzles. Her favorite color, for today at least, is purple. Her favorite songs are Barbie Girl, Single ladies and If I Die Young. After hearing Single Ladies at Brendan and Lateisha's wedding, she came up to me and said "Mom, I'm a Single Lady!" she cracks me up. It was too cute, on the 4th, my Dad had If I Die Young in his head, he out loud sang "If I die young" then Kayla finished it off with "Bury me in Satin, lay me down on a bed of roses. Sink me in the river at dawn, send me away with the words of a love song" my Dad was pretty amazed that she knew the words by heart and could sing them without the song playing. She is getting big so quick, it makes me sad but also excited for what the future has in store for her!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3oSQkvkF270oAhPx-kLVUhe1_JWZvPzO1dcgo3OxTsh6tEQFgiygHwSk1G7SP0UfBA3qdNf6918PDSRV-r4mxiSNPmwXeV-eQ3vpQSpuFlBpGiu6wwCi3hUX0iuYtNuZ4tfmXaYOdAXV3/s320/july20111+003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628884883280769906" />
Don't know why but I really love this picture, dirty face and all :)Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-46442477412565966422010-09-20T11:54:00.000-07:002010-09-20T12:21:53.353-07:00a week worth of blog days 7-13...I'm a slacker!Wow its been a busy week with Rylee's birthday and birthday parties!! So I have been slacking! I'll start with day 7 - photo of someone/something that has the biggest impact on me...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrYaRlhgWDRpJ08Ch6RtDZR4MCiaAilk8awOYOqPQwwG6-UmtdsDraS32AUKnAX0bpvmBTUp4_VZg9fsM1wcG8hAH9LJshfaNz0B2v1mCJQmIAwuMeTwen-IOYeRQPDLXmvt1-xxU_IwU0/s320/bdayparty+020.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519071649327657682" />
I would have to say my Mom and Dad. They are both such amazing people, and it is so awesome to see how much in love they are after almost 26 years (on the 27th its their anniversary!) my Dad will still give my mom a tap on the butt, they still hold hands and kiss eachother without caring who sees. They are amazing Grandparents to our little girls. They love to teach them new things! I love them so much!

Day 8 Short term goals this month and why....

So I guess that would be from now until the 20th of October.
1. Get ALL the laundry done and get all of us packed for California!! Because I don't want to forget anything!
2. Have a blast at Disneyland and the Beach!
3. After California, start getting ready for Halloween and our annual Halloween party!!

Day 9 Something I'm proud of in the last few days...

I finally made the girls bows for Disneyland, Rylee's birthday party was a success, got out the fall decorations...sad I know, I haven't been very accomplished!

Day 10 Songs I listen to when I'm happy, sad, hyped mad

I don't necessarily have songs for each emotion, but some of my favorite at the moment are:

Just the way you are by Bruno Mars
Take it off by Kesha
Persona non grada by Ravings of a Madman

some all time favorites are:

Goodbye to you by Michelle Branch
Ohio is for lovers by Hawthorne Heights
Wait for you by Atreyu

Day 11 Another pic of me and friends

I love my family so much and they really are some of my best friends. Jay and I can laugh about anything, we have such fun times together. I love the time I get to spend with my girls - together and individually. They both teach me new things almost daily.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrUcvWpkYLOvR4I0pPuEg_U-QgIFL4UPK4pQIkfXEBSPH0dX7hUubbKhM4l1C5Sw2kPJ_ArsCm9fSAnb0glv4-CoWF1L3UG-hC5ZdMwGIYG2KJnPcCVsWwTExxpTAgONZa7QR3FEdrzNdO/s320/summa+106.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519074829662322562" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2XVZmoxGTDYj4V5YvQmtUh8JPBZ_3iE1gIZnfRzxkoCQZgr2gvDqZmysaMDl-M_3oAp4u0Oj1NMIslTvx_T_DPRdN3SjWnDrq07QdDn7haGuDi1YX6NI-DxtKFvzu40D5J7pc8hyphenhyphenmrw98/s320/camping+019.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519074817354783442" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih8o3fii0g6n-uju6vy9SxhqMqLCY9PdraahR9lme9Nd-_v0azwpcKtTPSMJ6Yt8LEpJ3Fe1qnQ_L2aMM3Xf5zetOGdIF9BO9dktJuwfzUQJ_KzW4opbiuroA9W16z2L-5O2y-myxCl5Yc/s320/sept+048.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519076360771080914" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr9KD9YyrW7yDon5ls3EilkJRrGU6pIsvAdNPTQvWKDWGaexxTEayI24-Ev1IpsNrRR9AT9GUFDjMoI2FCnLZbAZeAmq2iTuoQq4SL-rtkTgmLMQEo2XHYC7xShYIA9OyDUlai3BOI9ccv/s320/fn+136.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5519076368127705650" />

Day 12 How I found out about blogs

A few of my friends had blogs and it was actually Jenna Palmer that told me I should start one. I don't think I've been hurt and I'm not really one to hold grudges, my heart does hurt for those in Herriman right now who have either lost their homes or are evacuated not knowing if they will still have a home to go back to. Well, I guess Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were pretty cool. They would count as a superheros right? My brother was obsessed with them - sheets, toys, halloween costume and everything, so I watched them all the time. Donatello was my favortie, since my favorite color used to be purple :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 120px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYwOCD-2655_Legoc28tE7YYIcu4Vahdhyphenhyphen3LwrYU9Xi6lZJ_cZ-rtMpcoOWUDVnTg33_zPidCGYHN4e6BT28EFUymfQS3bhftXsPXwKsqg_lnDOQ-k7zjUibAtIWNSLtwYX90adyHvgXJY/s320/thumbnailCA61CGKF.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516491419147449154" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 120px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_GhSZgfwZ3QxfL8qnOTg1ExIoay-VDDbFy5mkKBPsPMYilss4tQcXiBvt7_OyOcE7pD-jbGGrJkcPlW2MDUS3Izo_B3nnBF4I1t439IuZBy7Pmjd902SdwWAZr1XEE5JQ2DPkNzTgkl-2/s320/thumbnailCA02QD65.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5516491403227737154" />Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3217194317160036820.post-91097070590011324102010-09-12T11:21:00.000-07:002010-09-12T11:27:04.208-07:00Day 4 and 5Day 4 - A habit that you wish you didn’t have

Sounds pretty dumb, but licking my lips - if I don't have chapstick with me, I lick my lips when they are dry. When I was young it got really bad sometimes, it would leave red marks all around my lips. Really wish I didn't do it :)

Day 5- A picture of somewhere you’ve been to

I don't keep very many pictures on my computer, so I don't have many of places I've been. He's an awesome guy - sweet, funny, caring and best of all a great daddy. Feb 2 2007 and Sept 15 2009 two of the best days of our lives. Our little girls are so amazing. They bring so much joy to our lives with their cute personalities. Brikayla is always learning so many new things and saying the funniest stuff. Rylee is learning new things and her cute personality is really starting to show. I'm really lucky to have my family. I love them so much!Britniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01247956402701671094noreply@blogger.com0
