Excited for Summer

We're so excited the weather is getting nice. We have had so much fun being outside playing on the swingset, swimming and sitting outside enjoying summer thunderstorms!

Brikayla loves to sing songs, especially to her little sister! It's the cutest thing ever. She loves to rough house with her Daddy and "help" mom make bows. She already gets upset when Rylee takes her toys. No is probably one of her favorite words. She likes to think every day is her birthday or a "flower parade" she still loves dressing up in crazy outfits that only she could look cute in :) Her favorite color is purple - at least for today. It changes everyday. She loves to watch movies, especially ones with princesses. She talks everyday about how she is so excited to go to Disneyland "tomorrow" and ride in the teacups with Cristian and Chelsie and how she can't wait to get "sheshells" on the beach. Little does she know we have 113 more tomorrows until we actually leave for California. She loves to have her toes painted, play in the dirt and color sidewalk chalk. She's growing up so quick its crazy!cute Kayla!
Swings!!

Rylee will be 9 months old next week which seems crazy. She finally likes babyfood - especially carrots and sweet potatoes. She crawls everywhere like its going out of style. She is quick! She pulls herself up on everything, especially the fireplace. She climbs up the one stair we have in our house - from our family room up to the kitchen. She is such a happy girl - her smile can melt your heart. She lights up when her Daddy comes home from work. She loves her big sister like crazy. She loves to pick things up with her toes - just like her sissy. (Brikayla used to eat with her toes - she would put string cheese in between her toes and then put her foot up to her mouth to eat the cheese. hahaha) she loves to play outside, depending on the day she either loves or hates to play in the grass. She LOVES to swing next to her sister on the swing set. She likes to un-alphabetize Daddys DVD collection by pulling them onto the floor. Her hair is getting so long, I love it. Rylee girl

Jay just returned from a business trip to Maryland. He said it was absolutely beautiful there and wouldn't mind living there. He had a good time, but was glad to be home to see his girls :) He's really liking his job and is coming up on three years there. He got a motorcycle last week and we've already been on a few rides. There isn't anything like a motorcycle ride! We both love it!

I've been making a ton of bows, which I love doing. I've been selling them to friends and family. In the next little while my Aunts are going to be having a "Bow Party" where I can sell some of my bows to all their friends etc. :) I'm pretty excited about it!!

We're excited to go camping and fourwheeling this summer, its one of our favorite things to do.

April Already?!

Our Beautiful Girls

I really can't believe how quickly time is flying. It's the first of April...although it looks like January with the 6 inches of snow outside! I figured I needed to do a post to update on the girls :)

Last night Brikayla was watching tv in her room and came out and just started talking at 100 words per minute, Jay and I caught some of it even though she was talking so fast. Something about the purple girl turning orange or something and she was SO excited about whatever it was. Then she was just talking to us and Jay got a little teary eyed and just scooped her up and started telling her how big she's getting and growing up so fast. It made me get all teary eyed too. She is such a beautiful, sweet, funny, trouble making girl! She is three years old, it really hit me last night. I still can't believe she's three!!

Jay has always called her Baby Girl and he called her that last night and she says "I'm not a baby dad, I'm a big girl!" She's a smart little stinker. She loves matching colors - she had a bag of M&M's and was matching the colors to peoples shirts and things. It's cute :) She loves counting, dancing, singing songs - she loves Carrie Underwood and Michael Jackson - (the other day Jay was goofing off and said the "he-he" like Michael Jackson always did and Kayla said "Dad, you're good at singing Michael Jackson" haha), doing crafts, she is always concerned for people being ok, especially her baby sister. She is always trying to make Rylee happy.

Brikayla is still tall for her age - tall and skinny. People we don't see often or even strangers usually think she's four or five...and she barely turned 3 two months ago. I know that's not going to be a good thing when she becomes a teenager...we're definately going to have our hands full!

Brikayla loves the zoo!!

She fell asleep on her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Walker

She falls asleep so funny sometimes :)

She LOVED finding all the eggs!

Rylee is 6 1/2 months old. She is also tall and skinny - at her 6 month check up she was 27 inches and 15 lbs 11 ozs. :) Since she is so tall, she wears 9 month sizes in new clothes, and in Brikayla's hand-me-downs, she's already wearing her 12 month stuff! Its crazy - the things Rylee is wearing now Brikayla was walking around in. She rolls from one end of the family room to the other in 10 seconds I swear. When she's on her tummy, she'll try scooting to things. She'll get up on her hands and knees sometimes, but then doesn't know what to do next. She still loves her binky. She got her ears pierced yesterday and she looks so cute!! Rylee has a few ticklish spots - her feet, her back and the most ticklish is her palms. It's so funny how hard she laughs when you tickle her palms! She LOVES spitting - especially when we're in the car. I don't think I've ever heard so many spitting noises from such a little thing! She sucks on her bottom lip a lot. We have to keep the carpet vacuumed constantly - she picks up everything she can get her little fingers on and puts it in her mouth. She still does NOT like baby food, she's like her sister in that way - Kayla went from bottle to table food. Rylee did however like her Biter Biscuit we gave her the other day... she also likes to chew on bread from the Spaghetti Factory, pizza crust and her fingers...she doesn't suck her thumb but she does chew on it and all her fingers and makes a big slobbery mess :)

haha...I love this picture!

Rylee and her Biter Biscuit

She was ready to find some eggs!

We sure do love our little girls and feel so blessed to have two healthy, beautiful girls! We are looking forward to Easter. Yesterday the girls got to do an egg hunt at Suzannes school, they had so much fun! Brikayla keeps asking when the bunnies are going to come...we're a little sad we won't be camping for Easter weekend like we usually do, but the weather is just too crazy! Hope everyone has a happy Easter!

GIRLS

The last few weeks have been pretty hectic. 3 weeks ago or so Rylee got double ear infections, then Brikayla got a bad cough before her birthday, then Rylee had early signs of RSV then Brikayla got an ear infection. Jay and I have also had colds throughout as well. I'm so glad to say everyone is almost back to 100 percent!

For my birthday we went out with my family to Red Robin and had a great time, wonderful dinner. For Valentines Day/my birthday/Ron's birthday we went with Jays parents to Tepanyaki which was fun and delicious.

Brikayla LOVED "Balentines Day". She looked forward to it and enjoyed making valentines for all my cousins, which she brought to our family party.

Rylee is getting so big, time is just seeming to fly! She is rolling all over the place, sitting on her own every once in awhile and she doesn't like laying flat on her back very much, she would rather sit up, which she tries to do by herself and its really funny :)
Trying to sit up She likes her binky, but lately just likes to play with it. She takes it out of her mouth and then puts it back in, she also likes to stick her thumb through the side of her binky so that she is sucking on her thumb and her binky at the same time. It's cute :)Taking her binky out :)

Brikayla is still a little troublemaker sometimes, the other day she got a full box of cereal and spread it all over her room - it was even in the blinds that were open at the time. The little grin on her face... Yesterday she would go into Rylee's room when she was napping and climb from the rocking chair into her crib and wake her up. It was frustrating but cute at the same time!

In great news, Monday night Brikayla went in her potty once. Then Tuesday four times and so today I decided to break out the Tinkerbell, Minnie Mouse and Dora underwear again. She's gone potty in her potty 5 times so far, and just had two accidents, which I'm excited about! She's making progress!! I think she may have finally decided its time to potty train - it may also be because my mom told her she needs to be potty trained before October if she wants to go to Disneyland ;)

I know my girls love each other :) They are so cute together, I can't wait to see their bond grow!
HAHA Rylee is like "get off of me" lol

Happy Birthday!

I can't believe how big my princess is getting!! Daddy called her from work today to wish her a happy birthday and she was so excited about that :) She's had her birthday princess tiara on all day so far.

She was so excited when everyone started singing Happy Birthday, but then she realized we were singing to her and she got all embarrassed

She was spoiled!! Thanks to everyone who came :)
Her "tiana crown" as she calls it. She hasn't taken this thing off hardly at all

My girls are growing so fast!

Rylee is getting better and better at sitting on her own! She sits for minutes at a time now instead of just seconds...she's getting so big already!
She'll be four months old tomorrow. It is so crazy how much time flies!! Today Rylee and I had a day together since Brikayla slept at my moms last night and then spent the day with her - they went to go see "The Princess and the Frog" - which Brikayla loved - but it was the first time Brikayla has gone to the theatre to see a movie, and my mom said when they walked in, Brikayla would walk up two stairs, and then run back to the door and say how dark it was in there. My mom had to drag her up the stairs, I wish I could have been there to see it! Haha. Then, my mom said that when they were watching the movie, Brikayla would look around for a minute or two and then say to her, "Grandma, it sure is dark in here" and then pause for a minute and say "let's get out of here!" but other than that she was thrilled about the actual movie! Anyway, back to me having a day with Rylee, it was so different with us just being alone. We played a lot today and Rylee was "talking" so much. She kept trying to look at the tv upside down -(it was weird that I wasn't watching Kai-lan, Yo Gabba Gabba, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and all those other shows Brikayla loves lol) -
She took naps without being woke up, but I missed seeing Brikayla give Rylee kisses all day long, Rylee giggling and smiling at Brikayla being silly, watching Brikayla color pictures for daddy and being so excited to give it to him when he got home from work, I missed Brikayla asking to hold Rylee...although it was a great day, I realized how much I really love watching my two girls interact!

I was looking through Brikayla's first scrapbook today and it is so crazy how much Rylee looks just like Brikayla when she was four months old! They look so much alike! I never really realized it until I saw the pictures of Brikayla at Rylee's current age....and now my little Kayla Boo is going to be 3 years old in less than three weeks! She's getting so big, before I know it she'll be starting school...oh I don't even want to think about it!

Yay!!

Ok, really quick post, but I'm so excited! As most of you know, we've been trying to potty train Brikayla, throwing around the idea and everything for like six months...about three weeks ago, we just kind of let off, because she wanted nothing to do with it. So about twenty minutes ago, Brikayla came into the bathroom and said "Mom, I have to go potty" not really thinking anything would happen, we took off her jammies, she took off her diaper and sat on her potty, and she peed! I was so proud of her! I hadn't said anything about it, she just did it on her own! I really hope this continues :)

In other news, over the last two days Rylee has been sitting up by herself for like 5 seconds at a time! It's so fun!

If you don't have kids, its hard to explain, but it's so exciting when new milestones like this happen :)

It got quiet last night...

Jay and I were cleaning up the family room last night after playing with Brikayla, and realized that it was pretty quiet, so I went to go check on Brikayla and found her with a Drumstick Ice Cream Cone that she had gotten out of the freezer...(we have one of the fridges where the freezer is on the bottom, so she is able to reach it)...it was pretty hilarious, I guess she thought she'd help herself.

Rylee has been really stuffed up the past few days, and has also had her right eye almost stuck shut from eye boogers :( Today she was a lot better when I went to get her out of bed this morning though. :) When I had called her doctors office and talked to the medical assistant yesterday, she said she would move Rylees four month check up up a week so that they could check her out and make sure she didn't have anything serious, and do her check up all in one day. So we went in today and she doesn't have anything serious! I was so relieved. Today Rylee weighed 13 lbs 12 oz. She was in the 97th percentile for height...she's 26 inches! Tall girl just like her sister.

I can't believe that Rylee is going to be four months old next week and in less than a month Brikayla will be 3 years old!!! My girls are growing up so fast!
